Karen Hake Outstanding Bookmobile Librarian Award 2025: Debbie Beck

Debbie Beck of The Free Book Buggie in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN, is the recipient of the 2025 ABOS Karen Hake Outstanding Bookmobile Librarian Award.

The Karen Hake Outstanding Bookmobile Librarian Award, sponsored by Tesco Bus, is presented annually to a bookmobile manager, supervisor, or MLIS librarian in recognition of their continuous dedication and commitment to the bookmobile profession.

Debbie has a passion for the bookmobile profession, demonstrated through The Free Book Buggie when she is out in the Twin Cities and surrounding communities. Her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication allow her to utilize the Buggie to meet the needs of children exactly where they are greatest.

The Karen Hake Outstanding Bookmobile Librarian Award was presented on October 9th, 2025, at the Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services Annual Conference in St. Louis, Missouri.
